About Sallyann Keizer

Hello! I’m Sally, Head of Happyness, as the team calls me. Silly title, I know, but it makes everyone giggle including me, so we’ve stuck with it. I’m the founder of the Happynesshub and I am passionate about our work. I’ve spent years reading about happiness and emotional wellbeing, putting the research into practice, and trying to navigate the ups and downs of life’s rollercoaster ride. My dream is to share the work and the love, for each of of us to fulfil our individual potential, and to ultimately make the world a happier place.

Instant Happy Boost

I walked out of the hospital and I really had had enough. I should have been happy - the news was not bad - I ‘probably’ didn’t have cancer. ‘Unlikely’. Some tests. But, for me, the news was also far from good…  ‘You have a complex condition’. ‘Not sure we can [...]

Happy Places

I woke up Monday morning feeling unwell. And then some concerning news arrived. I was worried, and an abundance of other negative memories, past events, comparative scenarios flooded my brain. I’d planned to do a few emails and some work from home, yet I felt a need to inject something positive [...]

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions

We make 35,000 decisions a day – so say some sources. And these can vary from what to eat for dinner to the more serious and heavy-weighted, what feels like in the moment ‘life-changing’ decisions. So as my TV series drew to a close a few weeks ago I felt that [...]

The Roadtrip (Part I)

When I was young I remember climbing trees without fear, swinging the swing in my garden so high I thought it would circle all the way round and doing wheelies with such zest and zeal, there was no chance of a fall or crash. I was a bit of a tomboy, [...]

From Deep Within

It has been a week of lunches, meetings, coffees and conversation. And as each day has passed I have wondered at the diversity of people I have been sharing time with – from an old uni friend who I haven’t seen in years, to a new that I simply started talking [...]

The Roadtrip (Part II)

‘The bumper is smashed,’ said my Dad. I hadn’t even left home, how could a new rental car have been damaged on my drive? And where on earth was the petrol cap lever? I would need gas en route. As I googled rapidly, Archie barking in the back of the car [...]

Daily Distractions

I am having lunch with a friend and I am running late. I’ve written multiple emails on my phone on the tube in, used it to navigate myself to the coffee bar, sent a last-minute text from the loo before I go to the table - and as I sit down, [...]

My Archie

On paper it was not a good idea, as many a friend advised. A dog? Really? How will that work out in your high-fuelled, traveling, work-filled life? Of course there were more who thought it a good idea. I’d grown up with multiple Labs, I adore dogs, oh and I’m a [...]

Movies and Moments

It’s 8pm on Wednesday and I have just listened to over 2 hours of Jeff Foster talking ‘live’ on his streamed online course. Now many of you may think this is a strange way to spend a weekday evening, staring at a young man with a blank white screen behind him, [...]

A Day with Jeff

It’s Friday night… the candles are glimmering, the water is steaming and my bath is making headway in doing the much-needed job – saving me from my week’s exhaustion and self-questioning. Another seven days of full-on work pressures, personal challenges and the usual navigation of life’s ups and downs in today’s [...]
