About Sallyann Keizer

Hello! I’m Sally, Head of Happyness, as the team calls me. Silly title, I know, but it makes everyone giggle including me, so we’ve stuck with it. I’m the founder of the Happynesshub and I am passionate about our work. I’ve spent years reading about happiness and emotional wellbeing, putting the research into practice, and trying to navigate the ups and downs of life’s rollercoaster ride. My dream is to share the work and the love, for each of of us to fulfil our individual potential, and to ultimately make the world a happier place.

In 2022 we are again collaborating with our fabulous friends at the Now [...]

Weekly Words 10th October

This Sunday 10th October - World Mental Health Day. The theme this year is ‘Mental health in an unequal world’, something the COVID pandemic has highlighted in so many ways within our own nations, and around the world. Global inequality economically, socially and otherwise continues to widen and for those facing ongoing considerable [...]

Weekly Words 28th August

This week I had some horrid news personally. I felt overwhelmed and could feel my learned behaviour of building my brick barriers to enclose myself instantly kicking in. It is like I create a glass bubble around me to protect myself from any further pain coming my way. I locked myself in my [...]

Weekly Words 15th August

As I arrived to check in to my cottage in Cornwall this week, I was looking forward to fresh air, no stress, and, primarily, a healthy dose of peace and quiet. So, when I woke up on the first full day there to the dulcet tones of an electric drill at work just [...]

Weekly Words 31st July

This week’s blog is inspired by some consultancy work that I was doing this week for a charity very close to my heart. I was asked to join in a brainstorming session with the board of trustees to consider their new direction, and to share my own experiences of delivering ‘impact’ in the [...]

Weekly Words 17th July

When I was thinking about a blog to write for this week, the obvious answer was to write about the football. After all, it’s what totally captured the whole of the U.K. for the last month. And yet, just six days after the Italy v England game, the Euros tournament already seems long [...]

Weekly Words 10th July

I was watching BBC News earlier this week, and there was a feature about the recent judgment handed down to the murderer of two sisters: Nicole Smallman and Bibaa Henry. After they died in June 2020, the man who killed them was found guilty this week. The two sisters had been celebrating Bibaa’s [...]
