Hi Happyness Hubbers!
What an exciting day it’s been! Today saw the arrival of a friend of mine from the States so I have every reason to be feeling seriously chipper!
It was a spur of the moment trip arranged just a couple of weeks ago – we met via social media last year and hit it off straight away. There’s always the uncertainty of what someone will be like in ‘real life’ as opposed to online, but hey, it’s the modern way so we took the plunge.
Well, I can tell you, it was like meeting up with my oldest friend! What a fabulous day.
Being a total anglophile, I wanted to take her to somewhere she’ll never have been before so we ended up at Bletchley Park, where they so brilliantly cracked the codes to win WW2.
On our way round, this quote was up on the walls. It put the biggest smile on my face and thought it was perfect for us all in here, trying to shine a little brighter in our corner of the world . . .
Once I got home tonight I was able to take some time to do today’s meditation – I chose the 10 minute audio due to my brain being over-run with mischievous behaviour and wanting to pop open the prosecco, and I can’t tell you the difference it made. I wish I’d opted for the longest one.
I am very guilty of letting busy life get in the way of taking the time to meditate and today has proven to me that I must make it a priority. I can honestly say I feel instantly calmed. In fact, I’m sat writing this in the quiet of my lounge while the chaos is going on on the other side of the door and I feel completely relaxed. I walked in here feeling like I didn’t have time, that it probably wouldn’t work and I was so wrong!
I will be making the time to do the meditation at the start of my day tomorrow and see how it affects my mind.
This feels lovely and I can’t wait to see what else this project brings.
Here are my three gratitudes for today x
Hi Victoria – I love your blog! And I am so pleased you are enjoying the meditation! I did the 10 minuter today too. And wow what a fab pic and quote – and how apt – I am going to hold that close to my heart as we all spread the happiness. Thank you!
Morning Victoria! I know you are the master of gratitude and I was wondering if you had any tips for our Heroes and Hubbers on this subject? Marta has just recorded a VLog which we are uploading because she found it pretty transformative TO WRITE THEM DOWN! Just thought you may be able later to share some advice on the forum based on your MindFlowers delightful work! Happy Day 2! xx
Mind Flowers??!! It sounds like I have been on this planet for so long while missing on something seriously amazing!
Welcome Victoria. I am really happy to hear that you enjoyed the meditation. If it allows you to tune it and bring to the forefront of your mind, absorb and process and everything that is THERE to be grateful for, then you are at the precipice of an amazing adventure. I look forward to reading more about your journey.
With love, Marta.
Hi Sally Ann and Marta!
Thank you for your lovely messages! I’m sorry for my delayed reply – today saw me climbing a castle in the Cotswolds! (Oh my God!) NOT my usual comfort zone at all >.<
I'm so happy to hear that you found the act of writing your gratitudes down to be transformative. There is a whole lot of power in the process of writing them down – it engages the brain into the thought, processes it with you and declares it to the world.
It's one thing to think about these things, but quite another altogether to actually put pen to paper and acknowledge the thought. I LOVE this process and have felt such an immediate lift in my spirit from doing this practise daily.
It is such a pleasure to meet you both via here!
Sending a big virtual air kiss! :D See you on day three!x
