Internet shut down

Firstly guys! I’m still alive, I managed to go 24 hours without the internet. Ok let’s say about 20 hours without the Internet but that’s very good for 21 years old.

The first couple of hours were difficult; I was having withdrawal symptoms from Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, I don’t even like Facebook so I don’t understand why I was having withdrawals. But after couple hours it became normal, I didn’t want to check my phone or laptop every five minutes. I was able to spend valuable time with my family and friends and you really start to appreciate the time you get spend with your loved ones.

“Hi, my name is Gifty. I’m a 20 something year old living in London. I spend most of my days working in the TV industry and most of my nights reading fashion magazine and blogs. I have never been an unhappy person but sometimes you just need encouragement to keep you going through the good times and when things don’t appear to be going so well. So I have decided to join the 21 days of happiness to see if the whole process could help me through my good and bad days.”

Well done Gifty! I know what you mean about withdrawal symptoms – it’s so easy to get sucked in and so hard to resist. But you’re right – if we stick to our guns, actually we can survive without the internet for a few hours and maybe find more time to do other things instead.

    P.S. Loving the hat.

Not being someone who is attached to what is going on in social media – I don’t have withdrawal symptoms if I leave my phone behind – it makes me feel sad for those that do – I have had friends that have left their phone at work/home and spent most the time talking about what they would be missing out on – gossip , instead of enjoying the moment!
