Whereas Sally’s happy colour is orange (have you noticed the sudden increase of orange on the website?), mine is yellow. And I just spotted a lady walking down the street wearing a bright yellow cardigan. It instantly made me smile. (And any reason to smile I’m welcoming whole heartedly today.) What a difference a colour can make.

I’m looking forward to hearing all about your days x

Hello Catherine and HH Heroes = poorly person here again! A challenging day. Which required me to really really make a concerted effort to shift my focus. I woke to a couple of messages that upset me (I think it could have also been how unwell I was feeling too). I reverted to old patterns of being sensitive, getting over emotional and getting too attached to the negative, spiral downwards staircase was right in front of me. It took me a while, and a couple of calls with loved ones to shift my focus. I looked at the many lovely emails I had received. I then looked at the fabulous blogs on the site and how well our Heroes are doing. I then focused on how much better I am now than I used to be when I was ill. And finally I focused on the support that came through from special friends today who are happynessshubbing alongside us. Years ago illness and that start to the day would have taken hold. Today no. I sensibly followed my own advice (and Mum’s, Marta’s and Tim’s) and focused on the positive. How about you?

I LOVED the exercise of focusing on the positive things around me yesterday!
I spent the day being tourist in my own back yard and had a day in Warwick with my American friend who is staying here.
It was the perfect day for noticing positives, but my favourite things had to be buying a loaf of freshly baked bread from this tiny old fashioned baker shop, finding a specialist tea shop where I could indulge my nerdy tea-loving self, before wandering in the sunshine at Warwick Castle. Perfect <3
