“Hi, my name’s Matt and I am absolutely over the moon to be a Happynesshub Hero.
As a member of the emergency services, working long shifts and fitting family life in around other demands can be challenging. I’ve also lived with a condition called Dysthymia for the past 20 years, which is a form of chronic depression. I’m also Buddhist.
What does this mean for me? It means that I am more determined to surround myself with positivity, mindfulness and effective relaxation techniques. This is where the Happynesshub is perfect for me. I hope that by sharing my experiences of the 21 day programme with you, you too can benefit in some unique and meaningful way.”

Matt I’m loving your Gratitude Pot – and how lovely the 3 things you put in it. I felt really touched when you talked about them. I”m about to get my diary out and reflect on my 3 things. I’d love to hear what Marta says about doing different types of meditation. For me I too can get stuck with just one kind which I really love and then it’s nice to experience different approaches. How do you feel about mediation with music vs mediation which is silent?

Morning Sally. I find that I have trouble concentrating on nothing if I have complete silence which is why I tend to have nature sounds on in the background when I meditate. Sometimes its the sound of rainfall and other times the sounds of a zen garden. The alpha waves in Marta’s meditation was perfect and it’s been a long while since I have done a “guided meditation” so it was a refreshing change. Looking forward to day 2 and meditating again. Namaste
